1. Select the Floor Panel.   It is a plain rectangular panel with joists running in one direction only.   Lay the floor panel in the desired position on your base which must be solid and level. Check the floor is level using a spirit level if available. Place the panels around the floor – it will help you to understand how they fit together. N.B. The gap in the floor runs parallel with the door section of the Playhouse.

2. Select the back plain gable. It is a plain rectangular panel with framing all around the edge.   Place the panel on the back edge of the floor the bottom board overhangs the side of the floor. While an assistant holds this panel, select a side panel, place this panel on the floor as before making sure that it butts right up to the back gable and that the bottom framing is flat to the floor. Screw the panels together from the inside using two 65mm screws.

3. Repeat with the other side panel.

4. Select the front Gable End Panel and put this into the remaining space, screw as before.

5. Attach the handle by screwing into the door framing using 25mm screws.

6. Screw the verandah rails to the front and floor using 65mm screws.

7. Place the roof panels onto the building (do not fix yet), the lip on the side of the roof goes where the roofs meet at the top. Slot the uppermost piece of framing into the W shaped cut out at the top of the gable. Push the roofs to the front so that there is approximately 75mm overhang at the back of the house. Check that the roofs are sitting square on the shed i.e. the roof panels run parallel to the walls all the way round. If they do not then it is likely that your base is not perfectly level and will need packing in one corner under the floor to square up the roofs, try each corner in turn until you find the correct one.

8. Fix the walls to the floor using 65mm screws, (2 per side) make sure that you screw into the floor joists which can be located by following the line of nails in the floor.

9. Fix the roof sections to the walls with 40mm nails. Make sure that the nails go into the framing of the walls.

10. Carefully cut off the paper from the roll of felt.   Roll the felt out on a flat, clean surface and cut the felt in half width ways. Place one strip front to back on one roof leaving 40mm overhang to the three sides.   Secure the felt at the top with three 13mm felt nails. Fold the felt over the long edge of the roof and nail to the framing approximately every 150mm working from the centre outwards. Repeat on the other section with the second piece of felt nailing approximately every 150mm where the two roofs meet. Fold the ends of the felt and nail to the ends of the roof framing.

11. Fix the fascia boards to cover the ends of the felt, using two 40mm nails each end of the board, nail into the roof framing the patterned fascias go to the front. Trim the felt if required. With two more 40mm nails, fix the diamond finial on to cover the joint between the two fascia boards – pre-sink the nails into the finial on a hard flat surface to avoid splitting it.

12. Fix the corner strips to cover the end of the cladding. Use three 40mm nails evenly spaced, nail at an angle towards the centre of the house so that the nail goes into the framing rather than the cladding. These strips may need trimming to length.

13. Using the Perspex provided, glaze the windows and door by pulling out the nails that hold the beading in place.   Remove the beading and the protective film from both sides of the Perspex, insert the Perspex and replace the window beading.

IMPORTANT: Before allowing children to play in the playhouse make sure that all screw and nail heads are flush with the timber surface and that you have not missed the framing with any nails or screws.  Also check that there are not any nails exposing their points, especially from the roof.
