Please read the instructions completely before attempting to assemble the cold frame.  The instructions are intended as a rough guide only and details may vary due to the large variety of sizes and models available.

Tools required: Drill, Pin Hammer, 3mm Pilot Drill Bit, Phillips Screwdriver, Sharp Knife, Gloves, Saw.

1. Using a flat level surface, place together 1 x end panel and the taller, rear panel. Make sure the rear panel sits inside of the end panel. Roughly line them up so that the vertical framing of both panels are butted-up to each other. Drill a small pilot hole – top, middle and bottom of the rear panel. Note – the pilot holes should be drilled completed through the vertical frame of the rear panel.

2. Once pilot holes have been drilled, ensure that the outside face of the rear panel is flush with the rear, higher edge of the end panel.  Once flush, insert and tighten all 3 screws. Repeat 1, 2 & 3 pictures for lower front panel & remaining end.

3. Lay the lid panel on a flat surface with the rebate facing upwards. Place either your glass or acrylic into the rebate ensuring all 4 edges are supported. Take 4 lengths of beading, 2 short and 2 long, for rectangular coldframes.. 4 equal lengths for square coldframes. Beading may need to be trimmed if too tight a fit.  Press each length of bearding against both the frame and the glass/acrylic, for a firm hold, and nail the beading to the frame using pins supplied. Use at least 4 pins per bead.  Repeat this point for double coldframes.

4. Once glazed, carefully place the lid panel onto the assembled coldframe body. Make sure that the hinges are positioned on the high rear panel and flat against the cladding of this panel. Square up the lid so that it sits equally side to side (the front edge will overhang the body slightly). Using the shorter screws, fix and tighten hinges to the body of the coldframe.

5. Fitting the Handle. Position and mark handle position, approximately centre of lid edge. Fix and tighten screws.

6. Acrylic only. Once completed assembled, take a sharp knife and lightly score the film of the acrylic around the beading on both sides. This will allow you to remove the protective film.
